The London Fashion Week Low-Down

So Fashion Week is over for another year and, if you follow us on twitter you’ll know, we’re on a serious LFW comedown. We hit London this week for our first ever Fashion Week and joined the throngs of press, models and designers in the buzzing, week-long event to get a first look at the S/S 2012 trends.

London Fashion Week, 2011

Somerset House was the perfect location, in central London, to host the high profile event; with a fusion of traditional architecture and modern cutting-edge fashion. The exhibition lit up every corner of the three floors of Somerset House, which was a maze of designers’ collections, press and blog arenas, and hair and beauty studios. Right on the river, the stylish wine bar served as place to put your Louboutins up and do a bit of celeb-spotting.

Some of the catwalk shows were streamed live this year, courtesy of London Fashion Week, and we’ve uploaded some of the photos into our facebook album. If you haven’t already seen pictures from the Meadham Kirchhoff show, it’s definitely worth a look. The children’s party-inspired theme, with pastel-coloured balloons, pom-poms, and satin skirts, drew a smile from all who watched.

We were, of course, on the lookout for the next wave of jewellery and accessories for next season. Statement necklaces, chunky bangles, and embellished collars all hit the runway in high-glam style.

And just when we thought we could put our feet up and relax (until next year), it’s all kicking off in Milan and we can’t help but stay glued to the blogs and twitter feeds for all the latest first-look fashion at the next big Fashion Week.

Stay tuned as we continue our Fashion A-Z…..
